さて、前回はGRdigitalを買ったらまずは「数を撮れ！」というお話でした。
基本的にはフルオートで問題ないし、私はよほどのことが無い限りシャッタースピード、露出を変えない。変えるときは数パターンで試し撮りしながら落ち着くべきところに着地するような撮り方である。
それで訳も分からず1,000枚撮ると徐々に自分が何に反応しているかの傾向が見えてきたり、撮り方のクセなんかにも気付く。そして自分のイメージと違う写真になってGRの各種設定が気になりだす。
知りたいと思えば世の中には「写真学校」やらカルチャースクールに「写真講座」みたいなものもあるのでそういうのに参加しても良いとは思う。ただ、私の写真技術は99%独学だし、そんなものにカネかけるほどのもんじゃない（そういう意味では日本人ってほんと『学校好き』だよな）。 あるスクールの講師は「カメラの使い方を聞かれて困る」と嘆いていた。学校行けば「使い方」を教えてくれると思っている人もいるようだがそれはマニュアルに書いてあるし、せめてマニュアル読んでから来い、という話。「カメラの使い方」と「写真の撮影技術」は別物。
話が逸れた。
そうは言っても正直撮影技術に関する技術書で良書はほとんどない。私も過去に数冊買ってはみたもののどれもイマイチ。どうも書いてあることが分かりづらい。所詮写真が写る仕組みというのは光を撮影素子に感光させるだけだし、写真撮影を要素分解すると絞りとシャッタースピード、そしてピントしかない。
仕組みはけっこう単純なのだがどうも難しく書いている本が多いのは、ハードウェアが進化しすぎて結果的に難しくなりがちな気がする。ただ、そんな中で当ブログの右上の方に「RecomendBook」と紹介している本があるがこれは唯一お勧めできるシリーズだと思う（※私の経験則）。
雷鳥社という出版社はスタジオを持ち、写真学校の経営もしているからか良く出来ている。高度なテクニックを求めるなら話は別だが、それでも基本を押さえてしまえばさほど難しくないし、前述したとおり撮影技術は基礎的な部分がベースとなっているのでやはり基本を押さえずして先には進まない。
そして「写真の学校 基礎編」は銀塩写真についても言及されており（というか銀塩寄り）、デジタルしか使ったことがない人にとってもアナログとデジタルを比較するのに最適だと思う。さらに言ってしまえばこれを読んだ後にカメラのマニュアル読めば理解度が全然違うはず。
これらを一通り読めばGRの細かな設定項目の6割程度は理解できるようになると思う。あくまで参考だが私の場合、GRの機能の4割程度しか理解していないと自負しているし、それでも不自由はしていない。分からなければマニュアルを読めばいい。
そしてGRを使えるようになれば一眼デジカメだろうが、そこいらのコンデジだろうがひるまず使えるようになる。
可愛い女の子に「撮ってください♪」と頼まれても動じなくて済む。
写真の原理原則を知ると言うことは、車の運転と同じ。初心者も上級者もポルシェを運転できるでしょ？それは「運転の原理原則」を知っているからでしかない。特に最近のポルシェは誰でも運転できるし、そこそこ格好良く走れる。カメラも同じように高級カメラを初心者が使ってもプロ顔負けなキレイな写真が撮れる。
ハードウェアの性能向上に伴い、プロとアマチュアの境界線なんて無くなっているのが実情。
なのでとりあえず写真の撮影技術というのは基本をきっちり押さえればさほど難しいものじゃないし、基本を押さえずいきなり応用的なことをしようとしても身に付かない。
やはり「基本は奥義」なのである。
これはGRに限らず、全てのカメラに共通する、と私は常々思っている。
