The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (東京都中央卸売市場, Tōkyō-to Chūō Oroshiuri Shijō?), commonly known as the Tsukiji Market (築地市場, Tsukiji shijō?), is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind. 築地である。超朝型人間には楽しい場所だ。
朝の6時前からこの賑わい♪
ただね、おしなべて安くはない（場外市場）。恐らく上野のアメ横の方が安いと思う。
それでもいろんな物を売っており、発砲スチロールのパッケージやら、飾りの笹の葉なんかも売っている。ちょっとしたホームパーティやろうかって人にはいろいろ食材やら調理器具なんか集めやすいと思う。思いついたものは大体そろうんじゃなかろうか。
あとはやはり魚の種類が豊富だ。北海道出身者には嬉しい限り（と言っても買わないが）。
ここはフラッと訪れてフラフラ歩くのがいい場所だ。
そして朝飯も食わず始発電車で来たので何か腹に入れたくなる。
こんな時間だが各飲食店は絶好調で営業している。どういう客層かと言えばむしろ観光客やら寿司目的の客やら銀座あたりで朝まで飲んでいた若者たちが多い。
どこにしようか物色するもいろいろ迷う。
築地とは言え寿司に三千円は払いたくない。テレビで見かけるカレー屋もあるが築地でカレーってのも・・・。洋食屋もあるが意外と高い（旨そうなんだが・・・）。
この迷っている時間というのが実は楽しいのだ。
結局、場外、場内を三周ほど徘徊し、まぁ、とりあえず「海鮮丼」に落ち着いた。
朝飯に1,000円というのもいささか気が引けたが、せっかくの築地なので一度は食べておこうと決心した。
確かに旨い。旨いのだがいかんせん歩道に面する外のカウンターで食べるにはまだ寒い。おかみさんのススメでプラス100円の「アラ汁」も頼む。甘エビの新鮮さが印象的だ。鮮度の良いエビというのはなかなかお目にかかれない。鮮度の高いエビというのは頭のミソも臭みが無くコクがあり旨い。エビの鮮度は「頭のミソ」でわかる。
早朝から海鮮丼を食うというのも考えてみれば贅沢な話だな。
今度はもう少し暖かくなってから。
