実のところ今日の写真に関して使うのをためらっていた。要は「ボツ写真」かな、と。元の写真は色味が単調だし、むろん天気の影響もあるがそれ以上にアップタウンを歩いていればどこにでも見かける光景だ。ただ、逆にこの全体的にメリハリの無い感じが日常っぽくもあり、この地域の空気感な気がした。
結局ボツにするには捨てがたいと思った。
それでこの「殺風景なメリハリのない風景」をどうしたら「それっぽくなるか」と試行錯誤した結果が本日の写真。
地図を入れることでそれっぽいストーリーを持たせ、モノクロにすることで非日常感を出し、粒状感を付けることで「生っぽさ」を出してみた。難しかったのは粒状感の塩梅でやりすぎるとわざとらしい気もした。
また、全体的にストーリー性を出すために「地図の写真」をトップに持ってきたが実はあの写真は昨日自宅で再撮影したものだ。全体構成を「モノクロにする」ということは決まっていたので元のカラー地図をモノクロコピーし、歩いた道順を演出するために赤ペンで記入してからモノクロに変換した。
ここで「わざわざ赤ペン使う必要かるか？モノクロだから関係ないべ？」と思われるかも知れないが、「色」として認識していないだけで人間の深層心理や過去の経験からモノクロ写真を見てもモノクロになる前の色をイメージしている。なので地図に記載されているペンの色が「赤色」に見えるはず（当然見えない人もいるよ）。それじゃなんで地図はカラーコピーしなかったんだ？という疑問を持たれる方もいるだろう。それはモノクロ地図の上に赤ペンで道順をなぞることで道順が強調されるからだ。これをカラーの地図でやってしまうと前述の理由により色味が混ざって道順がぼやけて見える。
ちなみにこうした構成の写真を「組み写真」という。要は「四コマ漫画」だ。
ということでたまには裏話を付けてみた。
