世田谷区に住んで今年で10年になるのだが、初めて「ボロ市」なるイベントに顔を出した。
その歴史は400年以上に関わらず、未だに行っていなかったのは不覚。実に毎回20万人が集まるというから凄いイベントだと思う。
場所は三軒茶屋から世田谷線で世田谷駅と上町駅の中間の商店街。
自宅からだと電車に乗り継ぐより歩いた方が早いので徒歩で。
開催場所付近ではすでに人混みに飲み込まれる。噂通り凄い数の人だ。
露天も骨董品やら小物やら出店数も多い。食べ物もけっこう売られていてお祭りにしてはリーズナブルなお値段が多い気がした。
ただ、時期が時期なのでとにかく寒い。
私もある程度覚悟していたので相応の装備で行ったつもりだったがそれでも寒い。道行く人を見ると「常連」らしき人々は完全防備だ。
露天では甘酒なんかも売られている。沖縄料理屋の前では「泡盛のお湯割り」も売られている。
前日の飲み過ぎが祟って一切アルコールを飲む気分では無かったが、一瞬心が揺れる。ただ、そうは行ってももの凄い人なので飲み物持ってのんびり歩けるような状態でも無い。
何かちょっと食べようかと思うもやはり人だらけ。けんちん汁やらお汁粉売っていて欲しかったがあの人混みの中では落ち着いて食べている場合でも無い。時間をずらせば比較的動きやすいのかも知れない。
また、写真を撮るにも人だらけ＆さほど創作意欲沸かずで写真は出来高不足。お祭り的なイベントというのは昔からどうも写真撮る気持ちが萎える。たぶん、人が集まる場所というのは誰が撮っても似たようなものにしかならないからねぇ。
二日目の16時ということもあり、名物「代官餅」も売り切れしていて閉店中。
それにしても開催場所のエリアがかなり広い。
ちょっとした小路にまで露店が広がっている。
お祭りなのでいささか胡散臭い露店もあったり、誰が買うのか分からないようなガスマスクやら防弾チョッキも売っている。
子供たちが当たるわけがないくじ引きに興じる姿を見かけたり。
学生時代に友達と組んでお祭りで「くじ引き屋」をやったことがあったがあんなボロ儲けな商売は無い。300円のくじ引きで、空くじなしなんだがその景品の原価は25～50円程度だったもんな。さすがに最近のくじ引きは昔ほどあこぎじゃないんだろうが景品見ていると基本的なビジネスモデルは今も昔も一緒だと思った。
いささか罪悪感もあるのだが、子供はこうして大人になるんだよな。
これと言って欲しいモノはない、というか、目的を持っていくようなイベントではない。時間があるときは行っても良いかも知れないね。
ただ、寒さ対策は万全にしていったほうが良い。
