●頂上
6時間かかってやっと頂上。
完全に生気の無い顔になっている・・・。ただ、ラッキーだったのは天気が荒れなかったこと。しかも少し曇っていたので富士山特有の日差しにさらされることも無かった。登山条件としては良かったと思う。
そうは言ってもこの天候でこの辛さ・・・。
それと辛いのが「体感温度の差」である。登っている時は暑くて汗だくなんだが休憩すると一気に体が冷えるのである。これが辛い。暑くて汗だくなのに3分くらいで急激に寒くなる。登山用の洋服って新素材をやたらと強調する理由がよく分かった。
それにしてもこの頂上の賑わいはなんだろう。凄い人の数だ。たぶんそこいらの過疎の村より人多いぞ。
それで登ってくる途中、「山小屋」がある。しかもけっこうな数。休憩もできるし食事もある。当然「富士山価格」なので割高にはなっている、概ね下界の3～4倍くらいか。
最初はバカにしていたが、荷物を軽くする、特に飲料水は重いので多少高くても途中の山小屋で調達するくらいに思っていても悪くない。
それで不思議なんだがこんな場所にこれだけの設備や物資があるということだ。ブルドーザーが通れる道があるのでハンドキャリーでは無さそうだ。
それにしても疲労度マックスで周囲をのんびり眺める余裕無し。
富士山の山頂3,770mでこの空気の薄さというのを考えるとエベレストの山頂ってどんなところなんだ？と脳裏をよぎる。
想像しただけでもぞっとしたよ。
●下山
頂上をのんびり散策する余裕は無い。すでにかなりスケジュールが押している。帰りは3時間半で下山し、遅くとも17時には五合目にいる予定だったがすでにこのとき14時過ぎていた。
それより何より体が動かない。歩くのが辛い。
下山道は登山道とは違う須走ルートで帰る。実際下るだけなんだがこれが辛い。滑るし砂埃が舞い上がるし、膝がガクガク震える。よく「膝が笑う」というがこのときは「膝が大爆笑」状態。しかも単調な道が続く。この須走ルートがクネクネしていて危ない。消耗しきった体にはかなり堪える。
下山途中に撮った数少ない写真の一枚。もうこの時には撮影意欲が萎えている。
「影富士」なんかも見えたのだが、バックパックからカメラ取り出す気力無し。
しかも、降りても降りても道のりは遠い。途中道を間違えたのではないか？と思ったほど。
予定では3時間半ほどで下山予定だったのだが3時間経過しても全くゴールの気配が無い。
すでに時計は17時を回っていた。
急がなくては日が沈む。こんなに遅くなるとは思っていなかったので懐中電灯は持っていないのである。
●下山途中
下山し始めて3時間ほど経過。するとこの時間から登ってくるツアーの集団らしき人たちと遭遇する。
最近登山は流行っているようだ。若い女の子たちがとても多い。当然ガイドが同行しているしやりとりを聞いていると細かな指示も出されているようだったので大丈夫なんだろう。しかもこの時間から彼女たちを連れて山頂に行くとは考えられないので無難に7合目あたりの山小屋で一泊するんだろう。 あれだけの素人集団とおぼしき人たちを暗闇の中7合目と8合目の間の岩壁登りをさせるのは自殺行為だろうし。
●真っ暗な山道
結局、18時あたりからすっかり暗くなってしまった。それでもまだ登山口には着かず。暗い道を歩く。まぁ、暗くとも人の往来があるので暗くてもなんとかなった。
それでこんな暗闇なのに超軽装な外人親子がどこに行くのか不明だが歩いてくる。恐らく途中の安全管理センターあたりで追い返されると思うが正気の沙汰ではない。でもこういう人たちは意外と多い。
●無事下山
無事に登山口まで到着。結局登り始めてから10時間30分ほどかかった。とりあえず終わったということだけで安堵した。
何はともあれやり遂げたのである。
しかし！
ほっとしたのも束の間、バスが来ているというので慌ててバス乗り場へ。河口湖駅までバスで行くのだがこれが満員である。しかも路線バスなので座れる保証はない。そこそこの料金なんだから座らせろよと切れそうになる。でもこれを逃すと一時間後なので乗るしかない。
●家路に着く
命からがら河口湖駅まで辿り着くも、すでに東京へ向かうバスには間に合わず、電車で帰るしかない。結局富士急で大月まで行き、中央線に乗り換え立川、さらに南部線で武蔵溝ノ口、最後に田園都市線に乗り換えて用賀というルートで帰宅した。帰宅に要した時間は3時間半。
帰宅した頃には日付が変わる寸前だった。。。。
●雑感
誰しも一度は行こうと思う富士山頂。
一度は行っておけ。
それも若いうちが良い。「若い」の定義が難しいが言えることは「今」だ。すなわち行こうと思ったときが行くときだ。富士登山はその登山者数の多さや軽装でも登れる雰囲気があるので軽く見られがちだがそんなに甘い山ではないと思った。ただ、実際には子供や年輩の人でも登っている。ちゃんと準備さえしておけば山頂にたどり着くことはできる。
実のところ今回の富士登山は一週間前に決まったものだ。一緒に行ったLenny夫妻は計画していたようだが私は一週間の準備期間だった（まぁ一週間前に誘われ、勢いで決めないと行かないままだろうと思ったので即決した。この判断は間違っていない。）。
そこでもし、あなたが来年登山するなら；
・靴はちゃんと登山靴を用意すること。
スニーカーや運動靴でも登れると思う。でも、今回はたまたま天候が良かったので濡れた岩肌も無かった。ただ少しでも濡れていたらアウトだろう。今回登山靴（富士山クラスは登れるもの）を用意したが、岩を登るときのグリップ感はスニーカーとは明らかに違った。登山靴というのは平地では歩きづらいだけだが山に登るとその威力を発揮する。
・服装は多少値が張っても新素材のものを用意したほうが良い。
私の今回最大の敗因は服装が全て「綿素材」だったということ。これが実に汗で濡れると全く乾かないし重い。ズボンもチノパンなので歩きづらい。歩きづらいということは体力の消耗に直結するのである。服が濡れていると体が冷えこれも体力を奪うのである。最近流行の速乾性のものが良いらしい。ジョギングする人なら冬用のウェアが丁度良いかも。
・「お金」があればなんとかなる（←リアルな現実）。
前述したが山小屋では飲み物と食べ物は売られている。確かに富士山価格なので高いが「売られている場所」を考えれば妥当だ。ペットボトルの水が1本500円だとしても4本買って2,000円だ。2Lもあればまぁ足りるだろう。途中の山小屋で買い足せば荷物の負担はかなり減る。カップヌードルが500円だったり、インスタントラーメンが800円だったりもするがそれも場所を考えれば仕方ない。割高だがお菓子も売られている。ただ、確かに高いがかかってもせいぜい5,000円くらいだろう。
まぁ、富士山というところは金さえあれば何とかなる、ということだ。
ある意味、極めて現実的というか、俗世界を反映している場所でもある。
そうは言ってもやはり必要最低限の水や食料は持参すること。

今のところもう登るつもりはない（笑）
途中山小屋で一泊すれば違うのかも知れないが、それだとつまらない気もする。
やはり日帰りで行くのが男気である。山小屋になんて泊まらない。
そして二度目はもっと余裕を持って登れそうな気がする。たくさん写真撮れそうな、景色を楽しんだり、そんな気がする。服装を見直せばもっと効率的に且つ短時間で登れるようにも思う。
けっこう反省点が多く、改善の余地が多い。
登る前に「筋トレ合宿メンバーへの新メニュー」として考えたがこれを取り入れると大ブーイングが巻き起こりかねない・・・。
ただ、来年「登りたい！」という人がいたらこっそり教えてください。
意外と一緒に登るかも知れません。

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
