前から書いているがカメラに対するこだわりが無い。むしろここに哲学を持っているくらいこだわらない。
よく「○○のボディが」とか「××のレンズが良い」みたいな議論を見かけるが実のところ全く興味がないしそもそも分からない。そういう意味では全く「カメラ好き」ではない。最近この傾向が顕著だ。
カメラを選ぶときの基準は「使いやすさ」であって「レンズ」に興味はないし、未だにライカの良さが分からない。「性能」や「価格」で言ったら日本製が一番良いわけであえて舶来品である必要性も感じない。
一応新製品やら気になる製品についてはネットを見て情報収集しているが、世間のカメラ好きは驚くほど機械に関してあれほど語れるものだと感心する。
こういう「姿勢」が周囲に伝わっているのか最近では「どこのカメラが良いの？」とか「何を買えば良いの？」と聞かれることもなくなった（これはこれで寂しいが）。
それで最近使っている「借り物のEOSKiss超初期型」を使ってみて、けっこう使いやすいじゃん！と思っている。大きさの問題はあるがやはり「一眼デジカメ」の良さはあることを再認識している。けっこう雑な撮り方してもGRよりも撮れる写真の質が高い気がする。
こうなると最新の「EOSKissX4」が気になり出す。初代「X」でこれほど使えるのだから「最新型」はどんなことになっているか、興味津々である。さらには「7D」なんかはもっと気になってしまうわけでこうして「機材にはまっていく」んだろうな、とカメラ好きの心理が理解できる。
いかん！
やはり「撮る」ことを目的にしないと。
実際のところ（人に寄るが）プロの写真家で持っているカメラの台数が少ない人は意外と多い。上田義彦なんて恐らくアナログのみで三台くらいだろう。森山大道なんぞはアナログGRだけ（ただし数十台潰している）。以前なんかのインタビューで一応「一眼カメラ」使ったことはあるがさほど使用頻度は高くないようなことを言っていた。ハワイの写真集を敢えて「モノクロ」で出す大御所はやはり違うのである。
結局のところ「手元にあるカメラが最高のカメラ」ということにしている。
こう考えていれば機材云々に惑わされることはないし、「手元にあるカメラがこれだもん、仕方ない」という気持ちで「撮ること」に集中できる。やはりどんなカメラでも撮らないと意味がない。
そんなことをふと考えた土曜の早朝っていうか深夜。

↑本日の写真はある意味「まかない」の写真である。なんとなーく思いつきで撮ってみて、客に出すようなもんではないがなんかに使えるかなぁ～、くらいのもの。しょせんその程度のものなので何にも使えないんだが個人的にはこういう「どうしようもない写真」というのはこれはこれでアリだな、と思っている。
写真なんぞは所詮消耗品でその日、その時で見え方違うし、見てもせいぜい1秒程度のもんだ。
しばらく「まかないシリーズ」でもやってみようかな・・・・。
