サントリープレミアムモルツドリームマッチ2010を観戦してきた。
久しぶりの東京ドーム。
月曜日に関わらず大量の人たち。基本的に「無料招待」らしいのだが公式戦より人が入っている印象。
そりゃ私ですら「観たい」と思うくらいなのでそうだろう。「タダだから」というのもあるが出場選手が「昭和の野球少年」にはまさに「ドリームマッチ」なのですよ。
会社帰りのサラリーマンやら家族連れ、友人同士のグループなど見に来る人は様々。
チケットは「交換制」で先着でも何でもなく、座る場所は運次第である。
私は二階席。初めて東京ドームの二階席に座ったが、傾斜がきつくてけっこう怖い。
これはいささか想定外。そもそも高所恐怖症気味の私には厳しい観戦環境。
まぁ、いざ観戦が始まれば徐々に怖さにも慣れ、サントリーがスポンサーということもあり、プレミアムモルツがなんと400円で飲めたのだ。これはかなりお得。
試合としてはどちらを応援するというよりは、出場選手が目当てなので場内もどちらを応援するという空気よりは試合そのものや往年の名選手が観たい観客なので終始アットホームな雰囲気なのも良い。最近の野球事情には全く無知な私だがこの試合は非常に楽しめた。
桑田の投球は現役時代ほどでは無いにせよ、それでも十分感動できる。バースや駒田、元木なんかも登場する。東尾や水野も登板し、豪華選手陣だ。
それで村田兆治が登場すると場内が一気に盛り上がる。
観客は（私も含め）村田が観たいのである。
今年60歳（！）の村田の投球はコントロールに切れは無かったが、球速は128km/hを記録していた。いやー60歳にして128キロは立派である。
また、村田は満塁のピンチを迎えるが、見事に打ち取り無失点。
見せ場を作るねぇ。
60歳にして人の記憶や心に残り、そして今もなお「期待される選手」というのは実に素晴らしいことだ。引退後もコツコツトレーニングしているであろうことは容易に察しが付いた。トレーニングもそうだけどやはり「継続性」が大事なんだよね。
引退したから終わりではなく、維持する姿勢は格好良いよな。
この他に「板東英二vs張本勲」の対決も面白かった。
板東英二が登場すると場内が失笑に包まれる。この70歳同士の対決もなかなか趣がある。
こんな和気藹々とした雰囲気の中でビールを飲みながら野球を観戦するというのは心地よいものだ。公式戦はさほど興味無いがこれは来年も来たいと思ったイベントだった。
昭和の野球少年には嬉しい球宴だ。
